Shun Genetically Modified crops

Rwampara County Member of Parliament Charles Ngabirano is advising locals not to run for genetically improved crops but start with the local ones if they are to fight hunger in their communities.
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Ngabirano said Ugandans need to focus more on locally produced crops like bananas and coffee than the genetically modified ones which grow faster but don’t leave behind what can be grown in the next season.
He challenged his fellow leaders to look for ways of supporting the locals to fight hunger and poverty in their areas.
