Police in Mbarara has in custody, four people, on allegations of murdering a Rwandan refugee at the weekend.
The suspects are; Muyingo Prosper, Mujuni Patrick, Mujuni Erias and the deceased’s wife, Nzayisenga Venesi, all residents of Nyarubungo in Kashari south, Mbarara district.
The deceased has been identified as Nzavugankize Sedrick aged 40, a Rwandan refugee attached to Nakivale Refugee settlement camp, but was living in Mbarara town.
According to information, Nzavugankize went to visit his wife identified as Nzayisenga Venesi aged 22 in Rwentojo cell, Nyarubungo parish, Bukiro sub-county Kashari south Mbarara district, where she was running a bar.
It is believed that on reaching there, the couple developed a quarrel and fought, over allegations that the wife was having extra-marital affair.
Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson, reveals that they have in custody four suspects including the wife, to help in investigations, while the body of the deceased is at Mbarara referral hospital for post mortem.
