The chairperson for Mbarara district Sub County Chairpersons’ Forum David Kitengye has criticized police in Mbarara over its tough-handling local leaders.
Kitengye’s concern followed the allegations of inhumane arrest of Fred Mukundane the Rugando Sub-County chairperson who was suspected to have been involving himself in livestock theft.
Kitengye notes that as leaders and head of security at sub county level they are living in fear since police does not value them in security related matters.
He made this remark while presiding over the meeting of Mbarara district Sub county LC3 chairpersons’ forum held at Kakoba Division headquarters yesterday.
In his response the Mbarara district Boss Rtd. Capt. JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki asked if a whole LCIII chairperson engages in cattle theft, what example leadership is exhibited here? He promised carry out assessment of the situation to ensure they have it harmonized.
