Reverend Kills wife in domestic brawl, sets her body ablaze

LUWERO- The Police in Luwero District have in detention a retired Reverend on suspicion of killing his wife.

Rtd. Rev David Sekibaala from Luwero Diocese is detained at Luwero Central Police station on allegation of strangling his wife, Deborah Nakalema.

Ms Nakalema has been the head teacher of Kikamulo Church of Uganda Primary School in Nakaseke district and it is said that the former priest killed her and burnt her body in a domestic brawl that occurred last (Sunday) night at their marital home in Kavule zone in Luwero town council.

After the incident, Sekibaala 63 allegedly rushed to the home of his brother Sebutiko Wagaba, saying a bomb had exploded in their house killing wife.

Wilson Mukiibi, the Kavule Zone LC I Chairperson in Luwero town explains that he was alerted by the suspect’s brother about the death of their wife and he rushed to the scene.

Mukiibi says he found the deceased’s lifeless body lying naked with multiple wounds and immediately notified the police and asked them to investigate the matter.

Isah Semwogerere, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson has confirmed the arrest of Reverend Sekibaala to explain the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death as Luwero Hospital conducts a postmortem to establish the exact cause of death but preliminary investigations point to strangulation.
