Police arrests Man in Isingiro for killing his wife in Kitezi Wakiso

Mbarara. The Man suspected of killing her wife Viola Kakai who was a midwife at International Hospital Kampala (IHK), has been arrested this Thursday by the combined team of security operatives.

Simon Shimanya Wanyakala aged 40 years has been arrested from Isingiro District where he has refugee after allegedly murdering his wife Kakai from their home in Kitezi  Wakiso on 2ndAugust 2020.

It is alleged the husband killed his wife after suspecting her of dating another man Robert Sebuwufu whom they had already produced a child. Shimanya has been a primary teacher at Global Primary School in Isingiro District.  

The suspect was picked from Isingiro District where he has been hiding and brought to Mbarara Central Police Station and later in the afternoon taken back to Kitezi

During the Interview with the Suspect at Mbarara Central Police Station before he was taken, Shimanya said that he has been living together with his wife peacefully for 14 years until she started dating Sebuwufu.

He added that they have two children but the third one was fathered by Sebufu. Shimanya added that he could not bear the disrespect of his wife bring another man into his house he painfully built from his meagre resources.

Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson Samson Kasasira confirmed the arrest of Shimanya and condemned such acts of intolerance and advised people to stop taking laws in their hands but instead report such matters to authorities for redress.
