People Power candidate voted Guild President Mbarara University

The Power Power tirade seems to be taking over University politics as Ryan Umar Muhumuza the People Power candidate voted Guild President Mbarara University of Science and Technology

According to Robert Nowamaani the PRO Electoral commission MUST says Muhumuza won with 878 votes beating his closed rival Coleb Kanyesigye who gunned 869 votes.

Others who were in the race are Paul Nduhura Twinomugisha (FDC), Hakim Bukenya (NRM) and independent candidates Eugene Bizimana, Ivan Serunjoji and.

Muhumuza who was yesterday evening declared by the University’s Electoral Commission chairperson Marius Tumwebaze follows other people power candidates who won in other Universities.

Voting taking place at Mbarara University grounds

Byron Luswata won in Nkumba University; Jonathan Tundulu took that of Kyambogo University, whereas Julius Kateregga was victorious in the Makerere University highly contested guild polls. Mbarara University has an enrolment of 4,167 students only over 2168 participated in the guild elections
