On Thursday 29, October 2020, Ronald Mayinja’s name was all over social media after he released a song that praises President Museveni titled ‘Akalulu Kako Muzeeyi’.
The artiste was criticized, abused, and branded all sorts of names for this course of action and this comes just weeks after he was unveiled at National Unity Party (NUP) offices as one of their own. “I welcome Ronald Mayinja because he’s a fellow artiste but do you all welcome him to NUP,” Bobi Wine was heard asking the members of the party at the unveiling.
The former Eagles production artiste however didn’t just stop at releasing a song. He went ahead and wrote a long post, cementing his decision to back out of NUP.
He says he is going to support Museveni next year and thereafter until 2040 because he has done a lot of things for the country, he has the vision and the only man who can lead Uganda to prosperity and transform the lives of the citizens, not these hooligans and ganja people who have no knowledge about leadership,” he wrote.
He added that NUP just makes noise and kills innocent people. They are more dangerous than Museveni. That they don’t deserve any leadership position in Uganda because they are very confused very harsh and intolerant among other things.
