No Pay rise for Judges- Chief Justice

Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has expressed disappointment with government’s rising expenditure on paying political leaders at the expense of other state institutions

The Chief Justice who was opening an induction seminar for 10 newly appointed judges in Kampala, said whereas the number of Members of Parliament was rising with the creation of new districts, funding to the Judiciary, another arm of government, remained poor.

The Chief Justice had just announced that whereas magistrates would get a pay rise next financial year, judges would not because government cites lack of funds.
