More One COVID-19 case confirmed in Uganda total to 53

Uganda has confirmed one (1) more case of COVID-19 bringing the total to 53.  Out of 214 samples run today at Uganda Virus Research Institute, 213 samples tested negative for COVID-19 while one tested positive.

This was revealed by President Museveni on his address to the nation this evening.

He said that on April 8, 2020 a total number of 214 samples were tested and only one of those tested positive, 213 samples tested negative.

Mr Museveni noted that since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in Uganda, a total number of about 3600 samples have been tested and only 53 have turned out to be positive.
