Uganda’s Ministry of Health confirms a total of 14 new COVID-19 cases from 1,084 samples of community and contacts thet were tested.
All confirmed cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers and were under quarantined at the time of testing. A total of 655 samples from previous points of entry. A total of 1,739 samples were tested. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Uganda is now 212.
Five foreign truck drivers, all Tanzania who arrived through Mutukula point of entry tested positive for COVID-19 and were handed back to their country of origin. This brings the toital number of foreign truck drivers handed over to 221.

Five of the confirmed cases are two males and three females who are residents of Adjumani District and are contacts of previously confirmed truck drivers while four of the confirmed cases are females from Kumi district and contacts of previously confirmed truck drivers.
Wakiso District on the tally had two cases of a male and a female while one Ugandan resident of Elegu also a contact of previous confirmed truck driver. Arua District had one case as well as Oyam District. Currently there are 161 admitted COVID-19 confirmed cases in Regional Referral Hospitals in the country and are all in stable condition
