The fatal accident which happened last night in Kicwamba Mwizi, Mbarara, Rwampara-Mbarara District has left many in tears as it has claimed the life of a one Woman known as Nome, a trader in Kijungu market who a dealer in selling Second hand clothes and a born of Mitooma.
The accident was of a Fuso that carried over 100 traders of Mbarara-Kijungu market from Mwizi returning to Mbarara town. Accident happened at 9 pm at place called Kichwamba.
“The driver could not control his breaks and lost control and hence the reason for the breakdown and throwing us down” said one of the victims admitted at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
The Referral Hospital is now nursing victims who are in a critical condition according to the relatives as the Hospital Doctors continue assuring these people that the situation will be fine soon, some victims have been tied by bandages on the legs and arms.
Today morning the relatives, family and friends were cited at the Emergency ward of the Hospital with in a sad situation
Talking to Police Spokesperson in charge of Rwizi Region, Mr Samson Kasasira confirmed the accident and strongly blamed the recklessness, carelessness and negligence of drivers for not checking their vehicles fitness before starting and planning journeys. He condemned this and further said that the police have not known the whereabouts of the Driver of the Fuso, but search is on. The Fuso is currently parked at the Central Police Station as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
