Mbarara District Councilors demand better deal with Generation Suites

Mbarara District Councilors have ganged up against Owner of Generation Suits Hotel Mbarara (formerly Nganwa Hostel) Angello Muyambi to pay 5m per month or quit the district premises for other tenants who can afford.

This was passed through council decision last week at Kinoni Sub-county Council Hall where the Mbarara District held their Council meeting. Council resolved that Naganwa Hostel where Generation Suites is located should be charged 5m instead of 500,000= per month as rent.

One of the Councilors Jordan Mucunguzi raised a motion that the agreement which the district signed with the owner of Nganwa Hostel of paying 500,000= has expired, therefore as district before they renew his contract rent should be increased to 5m.

Tycoon Muyambi rented Nganwa Hostel 10 years ago and renamed it Generation Suites.

Council therefore resolved that as district they will make a new valuation for the premises like the one of AMPROK and the highest bidder will be awarded the contract.

Nganwa Hostel was one of the areas that were zoned for a five star Hotel according to the satellite City status that was made by the District some months ago. This includes the King of Kings Church which neighbors Generation Suits.

Recently Muyambi applied for a lease for the same premises but according to the information from the District, his application was not put on hold till today.
