Mbarara City FC President Hon. Mpaka appeals to Mbarara Companies for sponsorship

Mbarara. Mbarara City Foot Ball Club President Mweine Mpaka has appealed companies in Mbarara for sponsorship deals with Mbarara City FC. He passionately appealed to corporate companies to sponsor Mbarara home teams on the premise that they will be supporting the same community members that buy and supply products to these companies.

Mpaka who represents Western Youths in Parliament, raised this last week in a press conference at Lake View Resort Hotel Mbarara during the unveiling of the Club’s new management and new Players for the next season Uganda Azam Premier League.

During the time of his address, Mpaka said that he is not happy with companies like LATO Milk found Koranorya Biharwe Mbarara which jumped and moved from Mbarara to Kawempe based Premier League Club Bright Stars FC for sponsorship and left home teams like Mbarara City and Nyamityoobora FC decrying for a sponsorship.

Mpaka said that he expected companies like LATO milk to give the first priorities to the teams which are from this Western region since they are all based in the same region. Currently Mbarara City is being sponsored by Top Bet sports betting Club but still need more, Nyamityobora has unfortunately got none.

Mbarara City on the same day unveiled 9 new players and 10 new members on the management of the club a head of the new season yet to kick off. Among the members on management that were introduced on the Club include the Director of Welden High School Mbarara Yasin Mugabe who will be heading Mbarara City FC Academy.  Among the players that were unveiled to the club include former KCCA FC Star Paul Mucurezi , Kalim Ndugu the former SC Villa and Onduparaka Star among others.

Mpaka in his address, he further noted that this when Mbarara City FC fails to take the Trophy the Fans should blame the management but not the players. He assured the Fans that apparently the team of Players that the Club has are the best in UPL and they know what to do if they are not disorganized by the management. He says that he has faced a lot of Pressure from the Fans last Season and he shouldn’t face the same challenge.

After the Press conference, the team headed to Kakyeka Stadium where it faced against Mbarara Selected Team FC and drew 1-1 in a pre-season league.
