Mbarara. There is a tag of war in Bukanga constituency in Isingiro District between the District Chairman Jeremiah Kamurari and the area MP Steven Kangwegye towards the next coming elections 2021.
This comes to an attention within the constituency after the LC5 Chairman Kamurari declared to stand against MP Kangwagye ahead of next election for Bukanga constituency. Kamurari has declared to contest for Bukanga MP Seat during a press briefing in Mbarara this Thursday, where he officially announced to push out Kangwagye as a legislator.
In his remarks, Kangwagye accused the area MP Kangwangye for being incompetence exhibited within six years that in parliament. Mp Kangwagye was elected in 2003 after winning a byelection between him and Nathan Byanyima the former Bukanga Legislator. This after the death of one Gregory who was the area MP then.

During a press briefing, Kamurari blasted Kangwagye for supporting Tanzanian people in the recent invasion where some people from Tanzania came and encroached Ugandans at the border of Isingiro and Tanzania with an intention to overtake their lands, “we used our forces and those people who had encroached our lands ran away and escaped” Kamurari said.
Kamurari also blamed Kangwagye being poor at lobbying for services from state House since he is a member of First Family. He says that Kangwagye being a first family member, people of Bukanga have benefited nothing.
