Interdict Environmental Officer- Mbarara District Council

Mbarara district council yesterday resolved to interdict the Mbarara district environmental and natural resource officer Jeconious Musingwire accusing him over the failure to implement directives by the district authority.

Some of the councillors who speak to our reporter accuses musingwire for not considering them as human beings, use of abusive language, and this has led to destruction of environment in the district.

Mark Mugisha representing Kashare sub-county says Musingwire doesn’t sensitize the public about the environmental protection but rather wait to excite the public by destroying what has been put on

Speaking to our reporter after the council sitting at Kamukuzi the Mbarara district speaker Baram Ndyaguma says musingwire has been defying the directive by Chief Administrative Officer and even failing to appear in the planning committee meetings of the council to explain the questions against his sector.

Ndyaguma says even the money that was supplemented to his budget has not been properly utilized.

He says the council has directed the Chief Administrative Officer Mbarara to Felix Cuthbert Esoku to effect the interdiction and appoint another person with in the same department to perform the duty.
