FDC’s Betty Wins in Rukungiri

Forum for Democratic Change candidate for Rukungiri Woman MP Betty Muzanira has been declared the winner of the hotly-contested race, having polled 50,611 votes against her closest contender, the ruling NRM’s Winnie Matsiko, who posted 46,379 votes.

Rukungiri District EC returning officer, Umaru Kitimbo, in a returning form showing the official results on Friday morning announced that the other two candidates Kukundakwe Fabith and Prisca Mbaguta had polled 183 and 993 votes respectively.
