Three family members, female legislator Robinah Ssentongo, her husband Joseph and sister Dorothy Mukasa have all succumbed to COVID-19; with a fortnight.
Joseph Ssentongo died of COVID-19 on Tuesday, after his sister, Dorothy Mukasa had just been buried on the same day.
Mukasa, is also reported to have succumbed to COVID-19; and is said to have been nursing the legislator before her death. She was an eLearning Manager at Uganda Christian University Mukono.
At the time of her death, she was admitted to Masaka Hospital, according to her employers. She was buried in Buwenda, at their ancestral home, in Masaka District.
Mid this month, the Kyotera district Woman Member of Parliament, Robinah Ssentongo Nakasirye succumbed to COVID-19, at Aga Khan Hospital in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
The deceased’s political assistant, Tom Balojja told the media that she had been evacuated from her constituency, with health complications.
Robinah was first admitted to International Hospital Kampala-IHK before she was transferred to Nairobi for further management. She was from the Democratic Party and was seeking re-election.
