The outgoing Mbarara District Woman MP Rosette Kajungu Mutambi is warning Mbarara City residents against electing corrupt and incompetent leaders.
The legislator says that as Mbarara City looks to grow, corrupt leaders will do more harm than good.
She explains that “We must get competent leaders. Mbarara City needs leaders who will work with technocrats to plan for the city and implement those plans.”
She now wants people to use their power well and elect leaders with a record of good work not just populists who have no vision for development.
According to Mutambi “Failure to have competent leaders will lead to a poorly planned city like how Kampala is today.”
Mbarara City is among the 15 new Cities that Parliament approved recently. The City will start operating on July 1, 2020.
MP Rosette Kajungu Mutambi retired from elective politics and she will not be on the ballot paper in the next year general elections.
