MBARARA– The Bible Society from Ankole region has organised a function to launch the first ever Runyankole braille Bible in the region.

This function is going to focus on how people who are visually impaired can be helped and to fit in places of worship.

This bible will be mainly for the people who are visually impaired that has been translated from Runyankole to braille one.

Speaking to the Journalist during a press conference this Wednesday at Adit Mall, Rev. Emmy Mwesigye the Chair person Bible Society Ankole Region said that this bible is going to be launched on Friday this week to showcase that even people with disabilities are also important to the community and they need to be supported and be helped because they also believe in God.

Bible Society announced recently that this special bible is difficult to produce because of the volume and technicalities involved and costs them 2m Uganda Shillings each

Mwesigye said that as Bible Society they don’t sell these bibles because they are meant to be for the disabled people so they give out these bibles for free.

They do this this with support from their partners who that help them through their contributions

Mwesigye said that to produce this Bible it has taken them one year to translate and print into hard copy
