Acid Victim Councilor Katurebe shed tears during thanks giving service in church

Mbarara. On Sunday yesterday during the Thanks Giving, Acid Victim Councilor Amos Katurebe shed tears and cursed corruption agitators for making him a blind person due to acid attack he has regrettably suffered for a long time.  

While narrating his story about the acid attack, Katurebe told the congregation that thugs burnt him with acid to curtail him fight corruption at Mbarara Municipal Council after testified as a in Lands inquiry in Mbarara at Ntare School before he was attacked.

Katurebe addressed the congregation at Nyamityobora Church of Uganda during his thanks giving ceremony to thank God for making him cheat death after acid attack.

Katurebe has been receiving his medication from his home since he was discharged from Mengo Hospital on 19/05/2018. He has recovered the wounds and other complications on his body, however, his eyes are still sealed waiting for proper medication outside the country.

During the service, the Area Member of Parliament Michael Tusiime who was the guest of Honor, assured the family of Katurebe and his people he represent in Mbarara municipal Council that the president has already confirmed to support him (Katurebe) in the operation of the eyes system. Currently Katurebe cannot see anything because his eyes were sealed due to acid burning.

While meeting NRM Leaders from Ankole at Kakyeka Stadium during the NRM Presidential Regions tour, MP Tusiime introduced Katurebe to the president. Later the President called him (Katurebe) to come forward and forwarded him to his personal doctor for consultations.  

According to Tusiime, reports from the State House reveal that the president has vowed to release over 300m that is required for Katurebe to move outside the country for proper operations on his eyes, only that they are waiting for a letter the specialists indicating the process of the operation.

While preaching during the service, the Mbarara Archdeacon Rev. Can. Bobs Mwesigye criticized on political conflicts at Mbarara Municipal Council that there must be harmony to avoid such incidents like happened to Katurebe.
